THE MORTGAGE BILL
(To the Editor.)
Sir■—ls the proposal to unload the £50,000,000 State Advances loans on the Mortgage Corporation if and when the same is Incorporated, merely an electioneering stunt, and is the recent withdrawal of the draft Bill a deliberate move to;. prevent the public from gaming access to any'definite information regarding it? The fact that a new draft will be submitted on the eve of its being presented to Parliament is definite proof that once again legislation is: to be rushed through in order tq^avoid.- any opposition to or even reasonable consideration of the. Bill. This high-handed practice is growing alarmingly and should be discontinued. —I am, etc., ' ■-.■ ■■: ■ ■ ['■ • ■-■: •■■ ■-.-
