LIGHT SHOWERS PQSSIBLE

Special forecast for Wellington:—

Moderate northerly winds turning more westerly tonight, and tomorrow probably to south-west. Weather mainly fine and warm/but light showers possible with, the change of wind.

.Although there was very little change of pressure, the slight disturbance responsible for the southerly wind change at Wellington yesterday morning caused a considerable amount of. rain last night when it reached the Auckland, Province. Otherwise, except for a few thunderstorms in the mountains, the weather has been fine and the winds have been light and variable, with north-easteries predominating. There has been a gradual fall' of pressure, especially in the south, with the approach of the depression centred yesterday over the south-west Tasman Sea. Fogs were again reported from a number of places this morning. ' .

The forecast is for light to moderate and variable winds, with northerlies prevailing at first, but changing later to west and in places to southwest. The weather is still likely to be fair to fine and warm for the most part, but some scattered local rains are likely in .the far north, and later in other districts, but more especially on the West.Coast and -in, the far south of the South Island. . .

After a fine ,day yesterday, some heavy showers fell at • Auckland . last night, and it was still ■•raining at 0 a.m. today. A. light' north-easterly breeze blew yesterday; h.ut this morning it had changed to the west. .

Fine weather persisted at Wellington. Though cooler .than during the weekend, it was still, warm. A south-east-erly breeze died away yesterday afternoon, and later a light northerly set in. ■.•■.'-'.•:•:•

Christchurch had a fine and warm day yesterday. This morning it was misty early and at 9 a.m. the sky was still overcast. A light north-easterly breeze has prevailed.

A fresh north-easterly breeze and fine and hot weather are reported from Dunedin. ' ' .
