A GIRL IN PURSUIT
SIXTY MILES AN HOUR
Miss Venice Court, daughter of Mr. H. Court, a garage proprietor, of Armidale, New South Wales,-, motored hot haste jn pursuit of a man who is charged with failing-to-pay for petrol supplied by the garage.
Press messages state that the man drove up to the kerbside pump, and after Mr. Court 'had replenished the tank he was asked: to get two small' bulbs. As soon as he went inside, the man, it is alleged, drove away.
"Miss Court' got into a car, and, attaining a • speed of 60 miles an hour along New England Highway, overtook a car six miles from Armidale. She forced the driver to the side' of the road. The driver denied that he had got petrol, and again made off, but Miss Court overtook him within a couple of miles of Uralla, and he then returned with her to Armidale, where he was confronted by her father.
"At Armidale Police Court, a man was charged with having stolen petrol. He was remanded."
