MOTOR-CYCLE RACING

The Ixiou Motor-cycle ' Club'a second beach race meeting of the season was,held on Sunday at Wa'ikunae. Conditions wei-e ideal, the beach being in perfect order. A featnre of tbo racing was the lowering by Fitzgerald and Jones of the club record for two jiiiles. fiom a iljing start, the times being lmin 39 2-ssec,.;nd lmin 59 4-5 sec respectively. It is tliought* that this is.the first occasion that a race over a naif-mile com-.se has been won at over 60 .m.p.h. in- Revr Zealan"d.
