Appealing against these Australian intei nationals in a series of tests will be the well known Auckland star, Alf. Matson, holder of tho one-mile cinder championship of New Zealand, and noted for his exceptional skill and daring. Teams racing will also have an important place in the programme, in connection" with which a League championship event is being held. The contests on Saturday night,'will be between teams representing City and Newtown, ■captained by Clarrie Tonks (City) and Peter Phillips (Newtown).
