POLO IN WAIRARAPA

(Special to the "Evening Post.")

MASTERTON, This Day.

Over three hundred people' assembled ,at Mr. 'H. Carson's property, Tinui, on'-Saturday afternoon and watched with keen interest the .first polo' matches played in the North Wairarapa. for twelve years. The' games were held by the. recently-formed Whareama and' East Coast Polo Club. Seven chukka were played, and in view of "the fact that practically all of the fourteen players taking part were beginners at the sport,-the standard of play was very good and some splendid contests were witnessed. Another series of games will be played on February 16.'

The officers of the club are as follows:—President, Mr. Hugh Morrison; club captain and secretary, Mr. W. Levin; committee, Messrs. R. Hewitt, E. Meredith, R. Pilmcr, A. Ritchie, J. Morrison, H. Laing, and O. Ritchie; official referee, Mr. F. B. Vallance.
