Special forecast for Wellington:— Light northerly winds predominating and freshening somewhat tomorrow." On Saturday during the passage across tho Dominion of a very slight depression rather strong northwesterly or westerly winds prevailed about Cook and Foveaux Straits, but otherwise winds havo been only light to moderate in force and rather variable in direction. Since yesterday an anticyclone has coverod tho wholo of the New Zealand area. ■

Auckland has enjoyed ideal summer weather during the weekend, winds being light and variable. A northeasterly prevailed on Saturday, a, southwesterly yesterday, whilo this morning was c/ilni.

A moderate northerly wind prevailed in Wellington on Saturday, ; and the weather was cloudy, although' otherwise Hue and pleasant. The wind died down at night and a light south-easterly was in evidence yesterday. Although yesterday's weather was overcast and threatening at times, no Tain fell, and as tho day progressed there was a gradual improvement. Hours of bright sunshine ou Saturday totalled 5.5, but on Sunday only 1.7. It was beautifully fine this morning with a light wind from the east.

Christchurch had ■ brilliantly fine easterly weather on Saturday, but there was more cloud on Sunday, although tho weather was still lino. The weather at 9 a.m. today was overcast with a fresh north-easterly wind.

Dunedin had dull' and misty weather on Saturday with light rain at times and a south-westerly breeze. There was very little wind there yesterday, and the weather was dull, although otherwise fine. Cloudy conditions with a north-easterly breeze were prevailing at 9 a.m. today.
