Harakeke Mines, Limited, Coromaudel, reports that a -ton of general dirt from the "top level of the 3ft reef was crushed in the Chapman's Find battery at Coromandel for a return of 3oz Bdwt of retorted gold. Further trial erushings are being taken out before the directors decide on the most suitable equipment. The company will probably start crushing with its own battery before 1935. The secretary Neve River Gold Dredging Co., Christehurcb, reports that a company has been registered for the purpose of "acquiring approximately 300 acres eituated • about 16' miles south of Greymouth, "and for the purpose of constructing a modern sluice-box type dredge to work thereon. A total of twenty-four bores and two shafts have been sunk on the property,' and values were 6hown to average lOd at £4 per ounce. Cheek bores sunk showed slightly better values.
