SPORTSMEN'S CHURCH SERVICE
A "sportsmen's service!' was held in St. Augustine's Church, Petone, last evening, by the Rev. G. V. Gerard. Included in the large congregation were representatives of cricket, football, rowing, croquet, and shooting clubs, St. John Ambulance members, and members of -various lodges and of the Legion of Frontiersmen. " . ■ The lesson was from St. Luke's Gospel, chapter 18, verses 9 to 14. Included in the service were ■ the hymns "O God Our Help," "Lead, Kindly Light," "Soldiers of Christ, Arise," "Onward, Christian Soldiers," and "Now Thank We. All Our God." An appropriate address was given by Mr. Gerard from the.text, "Two,men went into the temple to pray." Solos were sung by Miss Young. '
