(Special to the "Evenlnfl Post."): • •' "' :J ■•' '■' CHRISTCHUKCH,; Thia^Day.- v ; .i-Tho Ayeathervwas brilliantly fine for tbei concluding day-.ofthe New Zealand Met-: ripolitah Trotting Club's Spring' Meeting' at Addington yesterday. It 'was a public holiday in the city, being People's ;Day at the Show, held adjacent to the course, «nd there iras an exceptionally Jarge attendance, people going to and from the; Show to the course, The track was again very fast. The betting was hardly as keen as might have been anticipated from the size of the crowd, and there was a very disappointing tinal pool on the lfree-for-All, which Harold Logan so completely dominated on the book. The totalisator turnover for the day amounted to £3U,428 10s, as against £42,761 10s on the final day last year, making a total o£ £109,320 for the three days, compared with £113,951 last year, an aggregate decline of £4031. CONSISTENCY REWARDED. Cannonball broke badly at the start of the.Governor's Handicap and Nell Volo was slow to move, losing fully 24 yards. Teviot Downs began smartly, and going to the back New Metford, King's Voyage, Lough Guy, and Sea Gift followed him. Sea1 Gift was not going steadily. At the mile post Teviot Downs was two lengths in front of New Metford, with Lougn 'Guy, King's Voyage, and Sea Gift next. Kuuning: along the'straight Teviot Downs increased his advantage.
