The sixty or so novices who have joined up with the ; local clubs this season are reported to be progressing well. Most of them'are proving; very keen ' oarsmen and are /taking their' training work seriously. The Wellington Club's novices are still hampered somewhat by the lack of two tubs' in which to train, the club having, only one tub available at present. The builder has advised-that the second tub pair will be ready next week. The Petone Club selectors have expressed the hope of boating a Petone senior four this year. They are going into the matter, and after a few more trials,' may be able to give a satisfactory report. 7 " : ■•-, .
