WASHINGTON, August 25.

Apparently with the aim of counteracting the growing criticism of Iho Roosevelt recovery programme, Mr. Donald Itichborg, as secretary of tho socalled Executive Council, organised to co-ordinate the "New Deal" activities, has issued tho first of "a scries of reports today, outlining the economic improvements during tho past year. The report dealt solely with the industrial conditions under the N.B.A. and declared that three million persons had tjeen ro-empioyed since'June 1, 1933, with added weekly payrolls increased by 36,000,000 dollars, while business bankruptcies had decreased by 40 per cent. The report admitted that a sizeable portion of re-empluymeni had resulted from Government job relief expenditures aggregating 3,700,000 dollars, but insisted that private industrial activity had beon greatly stimulated as was reflected by increased corporate profits.
