Robert Steelo, a fisherman, was torn to pieces by a number of sharks when ho dived from a launch about twenty miles from Cardwell. Steelc was attempting to recoVer a fish which had floated away. His companion was unablo to render aid as the sharks fought over tho body. Steelc leaves a widow and ten children.
