; Uuder conditions which prevented the game being anything more than a scramble, Poneke defeated Berhampore by - 6 points to nil in the second division inatch at Wakefield Park, all the points being scored in the second spell. Poneke did most of the attacking in the first half, but Berhampore ■ defended stoutly and kept their line intact. Most of the, play was between the forwards and eventually the Poneke pack wore down the opposition. Poneke,- however,- vsre able to score only twice. During Joose play near the Berhampore line Keari scored and then Toms worked the blind side when Poneke heeled, from-a serum. The half-back sent the ball out to Hurdle and the latter scored. Neither try was converted. Mr. A. C. Swan was'the referee,
