Miss Margaret MeLenaghcn, Christchurch, arrived in Wellington yesterday on a six weeks' tour of the North Island.
Miss Mavy L. Craig, who left "Wellington by the Haungauui, is on© of the many New Zealanders who lias travelled in interesting places. Trained at Wellington Hospital, Miss Craig was sub-matron at Otaki Hospital under Miss Pownall. She left New Zealand in 1915, in a hospital ship, and subsequently served with the Queen Alexandra "nursing staff on active service, and in the hospital ship Carisbrooke Castle. After that she was attached to the; Army of Occupation at Constantinople. 3?or some years; until she came home on holiday leave.''"recently, Miss jCraig "old the position of Director of Halls of Residence at the American Girls' College at Constantinople, and sho has now gone to' take up a similar position at the American Girls' College at Psyehiko, Athens.
Mr. and Mrs. Charles Gray (Pukerua Bay), Miss Nancy Gray, and Master Donald Gray are spending a few days in London before going on a motor tour of England and Scotland. They will bo in London for June. According to present plans, they will leave for New Zealand in September, states "The Post's" London correspondent.
Miss Isabel Mills (Timaru), with her aunt, Mrs. C. 8. Duncan (Waimate),and Mr. A. Duncan (Blenheim), are'travelling together. They went Homo via Australia and Suez, and intend to return by the same route in October, states "The Post's" London correspondent. Miss Mills went partly on pleasure, but also partly to gain further experience in connection with her work as a masseuse in Timaru. Sho will take a course at St. Thomas's Hospital, and will visit all the- well-known spas. She has gone •on a short visit to Torquay to stay with her relatives, Dr. and Mrs. Mills. In May the three travellers hope to have a motor tour through Suffolk and Norfolk, and later to travel in Scotland.
Recent callers at the High Commissioner's office- have included Miss E. Baillie, Mrs. E. T. Stephens, .Mrs. Garcia Webster, Miss Dilys Jones (Wellington), and Mrs. C. Elgar (Featherston).
Miss Edith Martin, of the Wellington East Girls' College, has resigned, and will Tetire on superannuation at the end of June. A resolution-.iexpressmg appreciation of her services' and; good wishes was passed by the Board of Governors at yesterday's monthly meeting. _'
Mrs. Guy Scholefield (Wellington) is. paying a round of visits in Otago and Canterbury. Mrs. Scholefield 'spent the vacation in South Otago with her son, Mr. Gavin Scholefield, who is at the Otago Medical School.
Miss C. Russell, of the staff of Wellington East Girls' College, left, for England last week. .. ' ..;
Miss Edna Purdie has been- appointed part-time member for speechtraining on the staff of the Wellington East Girls' College. *
Misses J. Trounce and J. Bay (Christchurch) are among the guests at the Grand Hotel.
Miss A. E. Duncan. (Levin) is staying at the Royal Oak Hotel.
