CREW TAKE TO BOAT

PICKED UP BY STEAMER

(Received March 5, 1 p.m.) ..■■;■ SYDNEY, March 4. The 84-ton trawler Unique sank off the South Coast last night. The crew of seven wero rescued by the steamer Bermagui and brought to Sydney. The Unique was steaming up the coast, off Newhaven, when it was noticed that the plates were leaking1. The water entered so fast that the master, Captain Bell, decided to abandon the vessel. The crew lowered a boat and made for Newhaven. They had rowed some miles when they saw the lights of the Bermagui and signalled her. The Unique was formerly a tug.
