MASS MEETING

REPLY TO MR. MACDONALD

(Received March 5, i p.m.) LONDON, March i. In order.to enable the workers to reply to Mr. Mac Donald, a mass meeting in support of the hunger marchers was held in Trafalgar Square this afternoon, thousands marching to tho scene from all parts of London. A strong force of police isolated the square and kept traffic circulating. The proceedings were orderly,'except for apples and fireworks thrown at the mounted police. The speakers, including Tom Mann and Harry Pollitt, delivered addresses from the plinth of the Nelson Column. Wai Hannington also spoke. The meeting resolved to send a deputation to the Government regarding the Unemployment Bill. The demonstrators marched off in a slight drizzle.
