(By Telegraph—Press Association.) HAMILTON, This Day. A "gallery" in excess of 900 saw the 100 yds South Auckland record broken by B. Pene, of Rotorua, at a swimming carnival at Hamilton on Saturday evening. Pene reduced the existing record of 59 2-usec by three-fifths of a second. The national champions, Crump and \Vhareaitu, dead-heated after a.magnificent contest in the 50yds scratch invita-1 tion race, equalling the South Auckland record of 25. 2-ssec. Considering that the races were swum m iresh water the times were excellent.
