FOR SEATOUN CHURCH
GARDEN FETE HELD
The garden party organised by the ladies of the Seatoun Presbyterian Church and held on Saturday afternoon at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. "W. Murie, Falkirk Avenue, passed off very successfully despite the rather severe southerly that made weather conditions unpleasant. ~■■ . . . ~. ;: There was a large attendance ' of local and visiting friends, . and brisk business was done at the . various stalls, which were ably looked after by active committees of lady workers. Sports competitions were well supported, and a dainty tea was served on tho upper lawn by the Girls' Bible classes. Mrs. K. A. Armstrong (president of the Ladies' Guild) received the guests, and during the gathering sincere thanks were expressed by the minister to all. who had assisted in a very pleasant and successful function. . Ho presented to Mrs. Murie a floral basket as a token of appreciation for the use of tho very suitable and beautiful grounds. The financial results exceeded the expectations of the promoters of the effort.
