I The Hon. Alexander and Lady Margaret Shaw returned to Wellington on I Saturday morning, after a brief trip to Auckland. Mrs. Alexander "Wilson, Wanganui. who has been visiting 'Wellington, will return home on Wednesday by car. Sir James Grose and Miss Melieent Grose, Wadestown, will leave shortly for a trip to England.- They will be accompanied by Miss Frances Parker. Mr. and Mrs. Morgan Duncan, Wanganui, who spent the weekend in Wellington with Mr. and Mrs. Lan Duncan, Hobson Street, returned home today. Miss Stella Watkin Williams arrived in AVellington ou Saturday from Christchurch, and spent the weekend with Miss Jean Webster, Heretaunga. She will return to England by the lonic, | leaving on Wednesday. Mrs. Carey Hill arrived in Wellington on Saturday morning, and is staying at the Windsor Hotel. Miss Joan Whitcombe arrived in Wellington on Saturday' from the south. Miss Betty Montgomery will leave Wellington on Wednesday for Wanganui, where she will spend a month's holidaj-. ( Mrs. T. ElHugham, Ormondville, is the guest of Mrs. IT. 11. Ahearn, Khandallah. Mrs. D. McClurg, Western Hutt, left today to spend a holiday at Taupo with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. C. V. Houghton, Auckland. Miss Daphne Robinaon,' Fitzhcrbcrt Terrace, has returned from a holiday visit to Havclock North. ?«fr. and Mrs. Searle Ellingham, who motored to Wellington last week, returned to Ormondville on Saturday. Mrs. Kresse and Miss Mildred Kresse, Christchurch, arrived in Wellington at the weekend. The Rev. D. and Mrs. Calder, Kelburn, have left for a motor tour of Gis- . borne and the north. Mr. and Mrs. Alee Chalmers, Melbourne, arrived by the Monowai this morning, and are the guests of Mr. and Mrs. 11. Hopkins prior to leaving for England'on Wednesday by the lonic. Miss Evelyn Goldsmith, Brooklyn, arrived today from Sydney, after spend.ing a year in Australia. Mr. and Mrs. John Patcrson, Karori, left Wellington on Saturday for a brief tour of the thermal and surrounding districts. Miss Gladys Coonier (Invereargill) and Mrs. L. Foster and Mrs. A. Bcatty (Auckland) are staying at the Hotel St. George. Among the guests at the Royal Oak Hotel are Lady Cuffe (Jamaica), Misses E. Barker (Geraldine), and E. Wilson (Sydney), Mrs. L. Priestley (England), Misses Harne and 0. Spring (Auckland). Miss (Dr.) R. M. C. Barclay, radiologist at the Dunedin Hospital, returned by the Monowai today after a short holiday trip to Australia. Mrs. H. J. Grubb, Waikouaiti, Otago, is the guest of Mrs. E. A. Tomkies, Karori. Among tho New Zealanders recently in London, "The Post's" representative mentions the following Wellington people:—Miss 11. M. Wilkie, Miss D. Lindup, Paymaster-Commander J. T. V. Webster, R.N., and Mrs! Webster,. Dr. M. T. Greig, Miss F. -Saxon, Mr. S. J. Lambourne, Captain P. C. Pirani, Miss M. Johnson, Miss B. Clark, Mr. and Mrs. E. S. Harston, and Miss H. M Parker. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Dossor, Palmerston North, are returning to. New Zealand from England by the Rangitane, which sailed on February 8. Mr. Dossor, who is on the staff of the Massey College, has 'been visiting his parents, and spent Christmas with Major Dossor at Hull. They have recently been staying hi Londoa with. Mrs. Dossor's aunt, Miss Nello Scanlan. Mrs. V. Empson, Mrs. Ross Nott, Mrs. Faincombe, and Mrs; Barker (all of Sydney) are staying at the Midland Hotel.
