THE FEILDING SALE i

Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report an entry of 18,000 sheep and a fair yarding of cattle at the Feilding sale on Friday. The entry of fat sheep and lambs was greater than has been the case tor several weeks, but competition was good for adult sheep rat lambs, on the other hand, were a shade easier. There was a very mixed penning in the store sheep section, but competition was again good, and any reliable ewes sold up to late rates. Store lambs were inquired ior, and any forward sorts sold up to the best of last week's prices. In the cattle section several lines of useful cattle were forward and competition was very keen, and prices showed a decided advance on recent rates. Good black .foiled Angus three-year steers made over £5. The beef section comprised mainly dany sorts, and there was a slight easing in prices compared with last week We quote:—.Fat lambs, l>Js Id, 2Us, 21swoolly tat lambs, 235; fat ewes, 16s, 17sfat b.f. ewes, 255; fat wethers, 235, 23s Bd: 2-tooth ewes, small, 22s 6d, 23s (3d- 5-year ewes, los 6d, 17s Bd, 18s S)d; 4 and 5-year ewes, 15s, lbs; 6-tooth, 4 and 3-year ewes, 14s sd, 17s id; 4-year ewes, 20s (id- low condition aged ewes, 8s Cd; wether lambs 13s 4d, 14s Id, 14s 7d, 15s lid, 16s Id- m s lambs, 9s lid, 12s 6d; b.f. lambs, 10s 3d, 10s Ud; woolly wether lambs, 10s lid; ewe lambs, small, 10s; 2-tooth wethers, 14s 10d-4-tooth wethers, 20s, 21s "d; cows in milk £1 IBs, £2, £3 14s; Jersey bulls, £3 10s, £4 3s 6d, £4 ISs; weaner Jersey heifers, 20s; iat cows, dairy sorts £2 10s, £2 12s, £2 15s £2 18s, £3 5s £3 16s £4 ss: Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report on the l'eilding sale as under:—A heavy yarding of all classes of stock came forward for yesterday's offering. In the sheep section the major portion of the store yarding comprised breeding ewes, there being quite a few pens of particularly good 2-tooth ewes which met with a fair sale, prices if anything being a shade easier than at last week's fixture. In the 4 and 5-year-old ewe pens the majority of the sheep offered were of a very indifferent nature there being a large proportion ot the entry not only low in the mouth but low in condition. For this class of ewe the market was a bit s ticky, but for any good lines of straight-bred 4 and syear ewes true to age there was a particularly strong sale. In the store lamb and wether section we report a total clearance, good rape lambs if anything being a shade firmer than at last week's sale. Included in our cattle offering were some particularly choice Jersey heifers running with the bull which sold up to £3 9s ibis was the first offering this year of heifers running with the bull. In the beef-bred classes were some pens of nice tat and forward bullocks which sold at up to £5 19s and 1% to 2%-year steers and heifers which sold at prices which must be considered very favourable indeed from tne venders point of view.
