PETROL FROM COAL
USE IN AIR FORCE
TRIAL LEADS TO EXTENSION
(British Official Wireless.) EUGBY, February 28. Only small quantities of petrol extracted from coal were used by the Royal Air Force for tests and experiments prior to last year, -when one home defence squadron flew solely on such fuel. The Under-Secretary for Air (Sir Philip Sassoon) stated in tho House of Commons that, in view of the very satisfactory results of this trial, a contract- had now been placed to cover tho requirements of seven squadrons.
