PILLIGA MURDER
CHARGE AGAINST WOMAN
HUSBAND ALSO INVOLVED
SYDNEY, March 1. In the special Court constituted at the Tamworth Hospital for the hearing of a charge against Annie Elizabeth Richards, aged 45, a married woman, a patient in the hospital, for the murder of George .Nott, at Pill ga r Henry Earl Richards, aged 53, husband of x\nnie Elizabeth Richards, ■ was charged with being an aeces- ! sory after the fact in that he harboured and maintained his wife at Bugilbone on February 14 knowing that she.had murdered George Nott. He was remanded. .. ■ ■ . x Mrs. -Richards's condition is improving. A message dated February 23 stated that it had been reported that a woman .made a statement to the police that she 1 had had a quarrel with Nott while sit-! ting in a car. She is stated to have said that she struck him with a stone, killing him instantly. She afterwards dragged the body from the ear, built a fire, and incinerated the body. She then took the car to tho Namoi River and sank it. The police said the woman later attempted to commit suicide. She was taken to hospital. '
