NOT REGARDED AS FRAUD

TECHNICAL IRREGULARITY

• SYDNEY, March 1. At the petrol inquiry, George Ferguson, terminal manager for the Texas Company, admitted that a shipment of power kerosene in the steamer South Africa was blended in tho company's tanks for the purpose of avoiding payment of Customs duty and to increase supplies to meet an order. Robert : Beaton, assistant in. the operating division, said that he accepted full responsibility for allowing the blending in the Tank. He had never discussed the matter. He did not regard'it as fraud, but as a technical irregularity. The hearing was adjourned.
