LOXDOX, February 2S. In the House of Commons, Mr. T. Levy (C.) moved welcoming the departmental committee on migration, and urging the early issue of its report. He' said that commissions consisting not of politicians but of farmers, surveyors, and financiers, should be appointed tp inquire, on the spot as to tho possibilities, in the ijominions , and colonies, and to study the task of developing the rich empty lands of the Empire. It:j was imperative to safeguard the Imperial future. Mr. A. Mi Lyons, seconding said that the proportion of British stock iii Canada, was shrinking, .while many jealous eyes wore on Northern Australia. . One of tho causes of tho lag in .migration' was tho lack of social services in the Dominions. Mr. ,-AY. Lunu (Lab.) said that the danger of so many debates on tho subject was 'the creation of a false impression in the Dominions that the I House of Commons was in a panic to I shovel people to the Dominions. Tho motion was . carried without division. ...
