EARTHQUAKE RECORDED

(Keceived March 2, 11 a.m.) : SYDNEY, This Day. An; earthquake wag recorded at the Sydney Observatory in the early hours of yesterday morning. Large surface waves reached their greatest intensity at 12.39 a.m. It is believed that the centre of the disturbance was about 1800 miles north of Sydney, probably in New Guinea.
