JUBILEE CHOIR
The high standard of the singing- of theJubilee Choir, at :the Town Hall on Tuesday.^ evening is referred to by? two cor-' respondents who.pay. tributes'to' the conductor . (Mr. F. J. Oakes). "Lover'of Good. Music" suggests that'it'would be a pity that such an excellent musical company should be disbanded after -giving only one short performance.- and-that another public" appearance, of- the. choir would-be very much appreciated.'- The proceeds of: such a performance could'be well disposed of, say to the. Home ;pf Compassion or other charitable institutions. The second correspondent, Ernest Buckstou;'generally praises the choir's singing, and describes the..sostemita effects as the best he has heard at any choral performance in Wellington. He concludes: "Surely this fine combination will be heard again." . , -.
