AID FOR HORSE-BREEDING
Tlio first grant in aid of horse-brcedin" to be made by the English Racecourse Betting Control Board is a sum of £2000 donated the Hunters' Improvement Society for the purpose of providing premiums for thoroughbred stallions this year. In making the announcement early in January, Lord Digby, at a meeting o£ the stallion committee of the society, said that in response.to his urgent appeal foi financial assistance, the R.8.C.8., having regard to the objects for which it was constituted, had agreed to make the giant of £2000. Sixty premiums in all, of the value of £100, and eight super-piemiuuis of an additional £25, would be awarded at the Thoroughbred and Huntci Show on February 27, 28, and March 1 at the Royal Agricultural Hall, London.
