RUGBY SUPPORT

AL one o£ the largest annual meetings of the Hutt Rugby Football Club, held last evening, there being over 130 .members pie6ent, the. club-accorded its enthusiastic support to the proposal, to erect a grandstand on the Hutfc Recreation Ground. The Mayor of Lower Hutt, Mr. J. W. The Loans Board,.which was there for the ; purpose- of refusing permission for proposals which were going to be a burden on the ratepayers, was quite satisfied, and the fact that a proposal for a' grandstand for another borough was turned down showed how keenly the board investigated the. matter. Miy Andrews replied to criticism regarding tho 'state of the ground, and said that' the footballers would have a better-drained and greatly-improved area quite ready for them when the season started. .
