PARLIAMENTARY INQUIRY
MR. J. A. LEE ON COMMITTEE
Tho Parliamentary Committee set up to inquire into th 0 film- industry has. been completed and will commence its sittings on March 13 in Wellington. The Committee consists of ten members, of. whom nine were announced last week. The tenth member is Mr. J. A. Lee, M.P. for Grey Lynn, whose appointment was announced today by the Minister of Industries and Commerce (the Hon. R. Masters). During last session of Parliament Mr. Lee introduced the Hire of Films Bill, proposing that no covenant or condition to charge a minimum admission fee as a condition of the hire of films should be binding on any theatre proprietor. The Bill was considered by a Select Committee of the House of Representatives, . which recommended that an inquiry should, be made into the whole industry. The others members of the Committee are the Minister of Justice (the Hon. J. G. Cobbe). the Hon. A. D. McLeod, Messrs. A. Harris, P. McSkiinming, P. A. de la Perrelle, A. E. Ansel], C. A. Wilkinson, H. Holland, and D. G. Sullivan. Mr. Holland is also t a member of the monetary committee.
