RONGOTAI COLLEGE
THREE RECORDS BROKEN
Keen racing resulting in several very closo finishes was seen at the annual swimming sports at Eongotai Boys' College, held at Te Aro Baths yesterday. A fair number of parents and old pupils were present, and the meeting was held under ideal conditions. The finest performance during the afternoon was that put up by WV Eichards in the intermediate section. This young lad broke no less than three records in the three sprint championships. In. the 25 yards event he quickly drew ahead, and won easily in 13 seconds. He swam well in tho 50 yards championship, doing the distance in 31 1-5 seconds. In the 100 yards event, Eichards made no mistake. He covered both laps in fast time, and was more than fifteen yards in front and still drawing away at the finish. His time was 70 seconds. W. McLean and A. E. Wilson fought it out very closely for the senior championship, and McLean was only a' point ahead at the finish. He won one race by a touch, and in the diving there was very little to choose between the first three. W. Eichards and F. N. Williams gained the intermediate and junior titles fairly easily.
