SOME CLOSE MATCHES
The champion o£ champion singles o£ the Wellington Bowling centre -.-.-ore commenced this morning on the Victoria green in perfect weather conditions, the green being in very fine order. The closest game of the moraine was between J. X. Brackenridge (Lyall Bay) and S Johns (Eastbourne). On the tenth head the score was 7 to 5 in favour of Brackenridge. V. A Mills (Johnsonville) pulled up I well and beat N. Senior (Central). On. the thirteenth head Senior was 13 and Mi Is 6. Mills got a 3 on the next head and scored on the next two heads, making 13 to 12 in favour of Senior. Then Senior scored 1 making it 14 to 12. . Mills got another 3 on the eighteenth head, and 2 on the nineteenth head, making the score 1/ to 14 ln his favour. Senior scored one m the next head, and Mills one on the next, giving Mills a win 18 to 15 ■ Play was watched by a large number of spectators this afternoon.
