The sparkling Burgundy was generally, considered an excellent wine; the claret was held to be comparable to Italian wine of the Chianti type; white ports were compared to European muscatels and were' called flavorous, full-bodied wines;' the ruby port was something for Australia to be proud of; the Burgundy had a beautiful colour and was a splendid wine; the three hocks were considered as Moselle types.
