MAINLY FAIR
WARM SPELL TO CONTINUE
The spell of fine and wariri Weather experienced in Wellington: during the past few days is expected to continue, according to the forecast based on observations made at 9 a.m..today.: The weather;/will be fair, and 'warmsgenerally, ;with scattered.Vr'aih still likely in--the' Auckland province, and showers later in Westland and in the far south. Variable and mainly light to moderate winds are expected, with north-easter-lies to north-westerlies prevailing. Although barometers have risen over the Dominion, a shallow depression is still located to the west of the Auckland Peninsula. Except for some rain in ISTorth Auckland and a few isolated showers in .the west coast and, far southern parts of the South Island, the weather has been'fair to cloudy, moderate to warm temperatures ruling. Winds have been light to moderate and rather variable, but north-easterlies have • freshened at times in the far north.- ' ' ■ . At Auckland yesterday it was fair though cloudy, with a north-easterly breeze. . ■Wellington had fair, warm, , and pleasant conditions, though, the sky was cloudy at.times. The maximum temperature was 73.6 degrees and the total sunshine 9.3 hours. There was a northerly breeze. ~'-'' In Cliristchureh also it was fair and warm, though mostly cloudy. A light south-westerly wind in the morning changed to the north-east later. Dunedin had a sunny mornjng but a 'dull afternoon, and some rain fell there during the night.
