RELIEF GARDEN PLOTS
(To the Editor.)
Sir,—ln -tonight's "Post" appears a letter from, a relief worker regarding the plots and a statement by the Director of Parks on this subject. The statement says that the Qarden Plot Committee disbanded, /and I may state that should have read thfe Central Committee, which gave up the.' fight when the Unemployment Board withdrew the subsidy for seeds land when the relief workers required their help most. The Berhampore Committee decided to carry on and still does so and endeavours to help the workers of this district. It was by the efforts of this committee that the present concession of seeds and manure was made and was made available to all relief workers in the city. Representftions were made to the officers of the bo I d'for this improve-■m-ent of the -scheme and I regret, to say that the results of our efforts were.very Boor. But we are still alive'.and^ intend making another effort and hope fo* more success in the future. The matter of re/allocation is already in hand preparatory for April I.—l am, etc., , •;■;■:■ •■■.•■-. a^cassie, ■ . ■ :-.■- ;." ■"- H6n.~ secretary, ■ Beihampore Garden Allotment Committee.
