COLD MEDAL PRESENTED
The gold medal' of the New Zealand Institute of Architects fox arcUecS work was presented at a meeting of the institute last night to Messrs. Gray Young, Moiton, and Young, architect^ Wellington, for the do S ,gn of the% lesley Club building. In making the presentation, the mo. sidtnt, Mr. W. H. Gummer, Auckland leferred to the appiopuatencss of the' stylo-ot the building that had this yeai been selected by the adjudicators. Jt was a modern building meeting modern needs In reply; Mr. W. Giay Young saia that an additional factor which had caused; his colleague and, himself to choose'the particular period with which the design" was associated was because it was that in which the Duke of "Wellington (Sir Arthur -Wellesley), from whom the club had taken its name, had lived. ' '
