FAREWELL DANCE

MIRAMAR TENNIS CLUB

The Bio Grande CabVret proved a very popular dance , 'hall on a "recent evening, when the Miramar Tennis Club gave a farewell dance to Mr. and Mrs. J. Houzego, who are leaving shortly for Australia. A presentation of a. tea service and tray was made to them by Mrs. H. B. Townsend, wife of the president. Mr. Houzego, in an apt speech of thanks, wished the clvi all success. There were many novelty dances, the main attraction being a ballet from the- school of Miss Hazel Martin. Their dancing was much cloyed by the large gathering. "Monte- Carlo" dance 3 were won by Mis. B. Duncan and partner. A tennis racket was also won by Mr. J. Davies. Miss Meier's orchestra supplied the music, and Mr. J., Pinkerton was MiC. ' , , , Among .those .present were Mrs. H. B. Practice Work., The first practice of the Wellington South Nursing Division of the St. John Ambulance was held recently, when there was a large attendance of members. Half an hour of drill, under Corporal Rockel, was given, followed by squad work in first aid under the superintendent Mrs. Betts. Corps Officer Elvines and the Lady Corps Superintendent were also present. Several matters of business were discussed and arrangements were made for a jumble sale on Friday. A. collection was taken up for the Children's Health Camp at Otaki.
