(Special to the "Evonlno Post") NELSON, February 26. An extra round of time-limit onesday matches for senior teams in the Nelson City Cricket: Association was commenced on Saturday. At College neither Old Boys nor the school team .made much of a showing with the bat. College won by 30 runs. At Trafalgar Park there was some bright batting by Athletic, who defeated Wnkatu by 126 runs.

The only contribution the College Old Boys match provided towards the "brighter cricket" claimed for the scheme was the rapid fall of wickets, both sides completing full innings ia ZVa hours. College

were dismissed for 133, which included 40 by A. Dv Feu, 31 by 0. Dv Feu, and 21 by Sheriffs. A. Newman proved particularly destructive with the ball, taking seven wickets for 33 runs. Old Boys were air dismissed for 103. None of the batsmen showed any desire to stand up to Ralfe's bowling on the uncertain wicket, and the faH; bowler secured seven wickets for 20 runs off 10 overs. No batsman scored more than 20 runs.

In the match between Wakatu and Athletic the feature of the afternoon's play was H. M. McGirr's hurricane innings of 84 for Athletic. Of this total he compiled 67 in 18% minutes, and the whole took only 30 minutes. He hit five successive fours and a single in. ; one over. Wakatu batted first, and were dismissed for 119 runs, C. Kinzett's 47 being the chief contribution. Athletic replied with 245 runs,, making a total of 364 runs for the afternoon's play. The highest scorers for Athletic were:—McGirr 84, Young 20, A. Smith 27, R. Ralfe -23 ; S. Pike 33. In the Waimea Cricket Association Richmond are in an-unassailable position for the senior cup.
