TOWN HALL RECEPTION
The public reception to his Grace Archbishop Redwood at the Town Hall tonight is expected to be given; in the presence of a .crowded house. ■ The Mayor (Mr., .T. C. "A. Hislop) 'will preside, and other speakers will be the Prime Minister' (the Bt. .'Hon. G. \Y. Forbes), his Grace Archbishop Mannix (Melbourne), on behalf of "the Australian Hierarchy, his Lordship Bishop Brodie (Christchurch), on behalf of tho New. Zealand Hierarchy, Monsignor McManus (Palmerston North), on behalf of the clergy, the Mayor of Nelson (Mr. W. J. Moffatt), Mr. P. D. Hoskins, K.C.S.G., on behalf of the laity of the archdiocese, Mr. J. J. L. Burke, on behalf •of the Hibernian-Australasian Catholic Benefit Society, and in reply, Archbishop Redwood. The special jubilee choir of 200 voices will sing under the baton-of Mr. Frank J. Oakes; and Mr. Maxwell Pernip will.preside at the' organ.■ Colonel Cowles, prpsident,'will represent the Returned Soldiers' Association; Mr. D. G. Sullivan, M.P.? the Mayor of Christchurch, will represent the Christchurch City Council; and Mr. F. H. Wilkinson will represent the League of Nations Union. ■ ' ■ ■ ■..■.■'■ Among the relatives of Archbishop Redwood present at the Basilica, on Sunday were Mr. and Mrs. S. J. Qoulter, Misses S. and A. Goulter, Messrs. T; and J. Goulter, and Mr. J. Redwood. ■ !. On the occasion of the 'diamond | jubilee • celebrations.: for Archbishop Redwood, a special screening of the Paramount picture "Cradle Song" was held at the St. Jamea Theatre this morning for the visiting prelates and, clergy.- ..,.,,
