The xvew Zealand Governor, Mr. T. C. List, in opeuing the 'conference, vvplcomed l)r. Fong i'oo Sec,- of China, representing Kotary International. Dr. Fong, in reply, acknowledge^ the wonderful welcome, and expressed pleasure at being able to represent Rotary International in New Zealand. Messages of good will'to the conference was received, from the Gov-ernor-General; (Lord Bledisloe), ' the Prime Minister, and from many Rotarians abroad and throughout .tho Dominion. ; '■ Delegates were entertained at lunch by the New Plymouth Club today. This afternoon the delegates will divide into. ■ groups to discuss matters of domestic interest. -. ■
