EVENING STAR WRECK

Tho wreck of tho steamer Evening Star, in which several lives wero lost, occurred off Gable End Foreland, north of • Gisborne, 67 years ago. At 2.20 a.m. on February 13, 1867, when-travel-ling at'full speed froni Napier tOvAuckland, tho vessel, a screw steamer of 147 tons, struck a* reef.
