MEN AT SHELTER
PAYMENT FOR KEEP
•As a few of the men at the Men's Shelter- of the" Wellington City Mission have not been assisting the mission financially.as far as might be expected from their.'small' means, it has lieon decided that in future all men receiving sustenance bo asked "to subsidise the mission by, allotting'to tho shelter 90, per cent, of the "money they receive.' Ah arrangement has been made with the. Unemployment Board by which those men desiring to participate' in the benefits of the City Mission sign to that effect, and the amdunt is from their receipts.
The .manager, of the Men's Shelter (Mr. Gibbons) says that tho arrangement was come to quite voluntarily, all the men at the shelter having signed the agreement except four. It is also understood that the board, being assured that the money will now bo spent in necessary accommodation, may further assist in sustenance in certain cases.
