WAR DEBT PAYMENTS
WHAT AMERICA RECEIVES
(British Official Wireless.) (Received December 16, 11 a.m.) EUGBY, December 15. The American Stato Department announces that approximately 8,900,000 dollars—£-1,780,000—is being paid today by various countries on a total debt of 153,024,000. dollars (£30,000,000). Of this amount the British Government paid 7,500,000 dollars (£1,500,000). Other countries making payments are Italy 1,000,000 dollars (£200,000), Czechoslovakia 150,000 ' dollars (£30,000), Finland 229,623 dollars (£45,900). Latvia made a payment of 8500 dollars (£1700). Belgium, Estonia, and Poland stated that they were unable to pay. No communications have been received by the State Department from France and Hungary.
