MAGICIANS' SOCIETY

A successful Christmas party to mark the end of.the yeai-'s activities vras held by the "Wellington Magicians' Society on Tuesday evening. Mr. H. Liardet,..president, was the chairman, and over thirty members were present. The hall was gaily decorated, and musical items, competitions, and various toasts made up an enjoyable programme. Replying to the toast, "The Wellington Magicians' Society," the founder, Mr. K. Sproule, said that the inaugural meeting was held last July, and since then there had been a gathering every fortnight. Members had also provided items at entertainments organised, for charitable and other purposes. The next meeting will be held in February, and will be followed by a ladies' night. Members undertook to give their services at a number of charitable entertainments.
