LODGE MEETINGS

DRUIDS' ORDER. Coronation Lodge.—Bvo. C. Cooper, A.D., presided. D.P. Bio. Kuch paid an official visit. Bros. H. J. AVillis and J. R. Taylor. R.A.C., examiners, were also present. The balance-sheet was presentad and adopted. Bro. T. W. Smithson reported on the work of the Medical Institute and U.F.S. Dispensary. Bro. H. Laughton reported on the bowls ..tournament, and Bro. Smithson referred to visits to' Excelsior and Melrose Lodges. The following officers were installed by Bro. Kuch, D.P., assisted by Bro. Laugbton._\D., Bro. A. Clements; J.P.A., Bro. C. Dispensary, Bro. T. W. W. Smithson; Press reporter, Bro. F. E. Matthews. The election o£ D.P. was carried out by Bro. Kuch, the two candidates for the position being Bro. A. A. Baiv ritt (Melrose) and Bro. T. W. W. Smithson (Coronation)! Votes of welcome were accorded the District President, the R.A.C. examiners, and visitors. In the challenge game of indoor bowls which followed, Coronation Lodge defeated ExcelBior Lodge by a good margin of points. Mewburn Lodge.—The Arch Druid, Bro. J. J. Brownlee, presided. D.P. Bro. B. G. Bray paid an official visit, and was received with the honours of the order. The R.A.C. examiners, Bros. A. Ketko and H. J. Willis, were also present. Among the visitors were Bros. H. L. Abel and J. R. Taylor (Pacific Lodge) and Bro. A. Jameson (Excelsior Lodge). The following officers were elected for the new term:—A.D., Bro.'F. E. Matthews; J.P.A., Bro. J. J. Brownleo; V.A., Bro. Renkin, A.D., presided over a good attendance. The bards reported, on sick brethren, and sick pay amounting to £28 19s was passed for payment. • Bro. Smith reported on the U.F.S. Dispensary. District President Bro. B. Bray, assisted by Bro. Taylor as M.C., installed,the following officers for the "ensiling term:—J.P.A., Bro. R. Renkin; A.D., Bro. E. Ketko; secretary, G.T. Bro. F. Mawhinney; treasurer, P.T. Bro. W. Hearn; 0.G., Bro. F. Whale; 1.G., Bro. D. Alabaster; arch bards, Bros. T. Hearn and G. Cochrane; V.A. bards, Bros. B. Kuch and C. M. Bromley; minute secretary, Bro. F. G. Wakeling; organist, Bro. F: Kuch; M.C., Bro. J. Taylor. A vote of thank's was passed to Bro. F. Whale for having passed through the chairs, and it was recommended that he be given his P.A. degree and presented with a. collar, and diploma. . The combined Druids' picnic committee reported that arrangements were well in hand for the annual picnic. Bro. Abel reported that Loyal Central branch, G.U.0.0.F., beat Pacific at "500" for the/U.F.S. shield. Card games terminated a pleasant evening. MANCHESTER UNITY. Loyal Kilbimie Lodge.—Bro. Morgan N.G., presided. The following officers were elected for the new term:—N.G., Bro. S. Eades; V.G., Bro. L. H. Levy; E.S., Bro. J. W. Brass; guardian, Bro. J. K. Wellwood; 'warden, Bro. S. Arkinstall; conductor, Bro. S. Parks; auditor, Bro. Cull; sick visitors, Bros. Arkinstall and Metcalfe (re-elected). Bro. Parks, a visitor from Loyal Britannia Lodge, acted as scrutineer for the election of officers;" For good servicea to the lodge in the past, Bro. C. Burnette was elected a life honorary member. Cards brought'an enjoyable meeting to a close. Loyal Newtown Lodge.—Bro. W. G. Leggett, N.G., presided over a good attendance. Wellington district officers, "represented by Bro. W. B. Brown, G.M., Bro. A. Blair, D.G.M., Sister McFarlane, Bro. Jorgensen, Bro. Rippon, and Bro. E. W. Guise, D.S., installed the following officers for the new term:—N.G., Bro. A. Rhodes; 1.P.N.G., Bro. W. G. Leggett; L.M., Bro. S. Eades; V.G., Bro. J. O'Callaghan; E.S., Bro. S. Reynard; guardian, Bro. E. Reynard; warden, Bro. C. H. Clark; conductor, Bro. H. Janes; pianist, Sister Reynard. The secretary reported on the recent meeting of the management committee in connection with distressed members, and Bro. Johns reported on dispensary affairs. Bro. W. G. Leggett read the report of the recent ritual competition, and plans were discussed for the next contest. At the conclusion of business, ■ the District Grand Master, Bro. Brown, unveiled a.photograph of the late Bro. A. J. Ibbotson, a P.D.G.M., one of the earliest lodge workers. Initiated into the lodge in ■ 1902, the late brother Hvas elected N.G. in 1906, and D.G.M. in 1911. He was also for many years treasurer of the lodge.! Loyal Antipodean Lodge.—Bro. Munt presided over a largely-attended meeting. It was decided to send a letter of condolence to the relatives of the late Bro. Mclntyre, members standing in silence during the passing of the resolution. Bro. Morris, L.M., delivered an address on the aims and objects of the society. At the conclusion of lodge business the visiting district officers, headed by the District Grand Master, Bro.. Brown, received a welcome and proceeded with the installation ceremony. The following . officers were, installed for the term: —N.G., Bro. Mulcahy; V.G., Bro. Koulls; E.S., Bro. E. Read; warden, Bro. Howard; guardian, Bro. Ballard; pianist, Bro. Young; lecture master, Bro. Webb; 1.P.N.G., Bro. Munt. Addresses were given to the new officers by Bros. Cropp, Bell, and Read, Sister MacFarlane, and the D.G.M. It was resolved that the retiring 1.P.N.G., Bro. Webb, receive the purple degree, and that his name be placed on the merit board. By resolution of the lodge, Bro. Munt was appointed Press reporter. One candidate was proposed for membership. The installing officers were accorded a vote of thanks. ... . . FORESTERS'ORDER. Court. Lady Glasgow.—Sister Tansey, C.R., presided over the largest attendance of Foresters for many years. The district executive paid an official visit, and D.C.R. W. F. Ingram addressed members, pointing out the improvement made by the court as shown by the latest valuation. He stressed the necessity of supporting the remits being brought forwai'd at the triennial meeting to be held at PalmerEton North in February. , He also reminded members that the centenary of the reconstruction of the order would be celebrated at Palmerston North in conjunction with the triennial meeting. The District Chief Ranger presented the Rutherford Shield to Court Lady Glasgow, the first winners of the ritual competition. Sister Tansey, CD., paid tribute to the assistance rendered by the older members.and to P.C.R. Sister Morris, her predecessor in the C.R. chair. Music terminated an enjoyable evening. 1.0.0. F., N.Z. Southern Cross Lodge.—Bro. J. Kidd, N.G., presided over a fair attendance. One new member was admitted on transfer. Sick visitors' reports were received and sick pay passed. Challenges . from Ngatitoa Lodge for the "500" shield, and from Maeranui Lodge for the cribbage shield, were accepted. Invitations from Zealandia Lodge, Port Nicholson Encampment, and Wellesley Lodge were accepted. Bro. Condliffe reported on behalf of the finance committee, and Bro. P. Lee on behalf of the standing committee. To finance the children's Christmas party the social committee was granted £6 for expenditure. After closing, a successful 6ocial was held. Wildey Lodge.—Bro. E. G. Manley, N.G., was the presiding officer. Three members were declared on the sick fund, and one declared off, relative sick pay, with general accounts, being passed for payment. Two candidates were proposed for membership. Invitations from kindred lodges were accepted. The sick visitor reported on his visits to sick brothers, and reports from all committees were adopted. Delegates to the district medical and hospital funds were instructed to attend a special meeting of those committees. The delegate to the picnic committee received recommendations from the lodge. Arrangements were finalised for the ballot of G.L. representatives and other matters. The D.D.G.M., Bro. G. Rudkin, was a visitor,
