MISSIONS TO SEAMEN

The programme presented in the Mis-; sions to Seamen Institute ori AVednesday: night contained a series of surprises. The opening items, "Carnival," with its bright combination of music, paper hats, balloons, and streamers, and the duet and chorus "There's a Good Time Coming, will not soon be forgotten by those present. Vocal items, violin solos, guitar duets, and musical monologues were interspersed with clever" humorous sketches. The audience, which was kept in a, state of mirth throughout, showed their appreciation in no uncertain wny.' The Johnsonville branch of the "Harbour Lights Guild were responsible for the arrangements, Mrs. Lambert being hostess and stage manager. The performers were the Rev. Mr. and Mrs. Lambert, the Misses Eva Stebbings, Molly Halliwell, Clarice Lawrence, Janet Carter, Jessie Foley, Pat Lambert, and Elsie Harris, and Messrs. Smith, L. Stebbings, L. Larsen, aud Master Bob AVorkinau. The 'accompanists were Miss B. Chambers, Mrs. Lambert, L.A.8., and Mr. Smith. Supper was served by the performers, assisted by members of the institute branch of the guild. A vote of thanks was carried with acclama tion. -
