LEAGUE OF MOTHERS

BIRTHDAY CELEBRATIONS

The seventh birthday of tho Wellington Central Branch of'the League of Mothers was celebrated yesterday in the Blue Triangle Hull. Mrs. F. T. Clark (president) presided over a large attendance- of members and visitors, and in her welcome speech, said how pleased the Central Branch was to have present with them Mrs. Forbes, Mrs. MeCombs, Mrs. R. A. Wright, Mrs. Elliott, and the presidents and members of other leagues. Mrs. Forbes, in a happy little talk, expressed her great interest in the branch, and Mrs. Elliott, founder of the Central Branch, gave a brief and happy speech congratulating the branch on its progress. v . : Mrs. MeCombs, Miss Reilly, and Mrs. T. B. Strong also spoke.

The committee served tea, which included a birthday cake adorned with seven candles, which had been presented, and was cut by Mrs. Elliott.

Solos were sung by Mesdames Crump and Lawson and Miss Freeman, and elocutionary items were given by Miss Joyce Dinnison. Mrs. Dallard played the accompaniments.
