A FAREWELL TEA
PARTY AT JOHNSONVILLE
A delightful! afternoon tea was held yesterday at St. Columba's Presbyterian Church, Johnsonville, tho occasion being a farewell to Mrs. Hunt. "The Busy Bees," under the management of the chief "Bee," Miss Margaret Moore, contributed a number of items, and gave also an exhibition of their work in connection with the Maori Missiou Field of New Zealand. Ladies of the P.W.M.U. and Ladies' Guild were also present. Mrs. Martin presented' Mrs. Hunt with a token of appreciation from the ladies' organisations of tho church, and spoke feelingly of the good work done by Mrs. Hunt in the parish. Miss Inglesby presented a basket of flowers which had been decorated by Mrs. Picken, consisting of yellow and purplo auriculas.
Mrs. Hunt feelingly replied, and said how sorry she was that the illness of her husband, -tho Rev. A. Hunt, had brought about his enforced retirement from the parish. She appreciated the co-operation and loyal support of the congregation, and said that her work had been a labour of love.
All present expressed their feelings with musical honours.
Among those present were Mesdames Steele, McDonald, McCrae, Livingstone, Martin, MeCristell, Markell, Johnstone, J. Moore, A. Moore, Miller, Glass-Johnstonc, Hodge, Inglesby, Picken, and Dunbar Bloaue.
