GOVERNMENT SUPPORTED

METHODIST RESOLUTION

The Public Questions Committee of the Methodist Church of "New Zealand has forwarded a resolution, to the Prime Minister in which appreciation is Expressed of the efforts of the Government to reduce the temptation to gambling as evidenced in the limitations imposed on art unions and the refusal to introduce State lotteries.

It is asked that the same policy be adopted towards th» proposed amendment to the gaming laws. Tho Youth Board of the Methodist Church makes a similar plea, as the representative of 30,000 young people in tho Dominion. The resolution concludes: "In the moral and economic interests of the country as a whole, and of its youth in particular, we make a special plea for tho rejection of the Bill."
