RESERVE BANK
EDITORIAL VIEWS
VERY CRITICAL
THE PROPOSED CHANGES
POLITICAL CONTROL ASPECT
Press opinions concerning the Reserve Bank of New Zealand Bill which were telegraphed to "The Post" today from other metropolitan centres are very critical of the, measure, particularly as regards the changes from the Bill of last year. In effect they fear a definite intrusion of political control through the change in the proposed directorate. The forsaking of the original proposal for the sole issue of notes is held by the "Otago Daily Times" as a sign of concession to commercial opposition.
